TYPES OF BRACES

TRADITIONAL METAL BRACES

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.

CLEAR (CERAMIC) BRACES

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are a great choice for patients who have aesthetic concerns and want a less visible treatment option. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth in patients with deep bites.

CLEAR ALIGNERS

Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable plastic trays that straighten your teeth. Not only are the aligners nearly invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.

Lingual Invisible Braces (INBRACE)

Lingual Braces, often referred to as hidden braces, are a unique orthodontic solution that attaches brackets behind your teeth, instead of on the front surfaces. They function just like traditional braces by using a wire and bracket system to gradually guide your teeth into the desired positions over time.

Although Lingual Braces and InBrace might seem similar they do have their differences. InBrace does not use a sliding bracket system. The strategic placement of the Smartwire not only promotes easy brushing and flossing but also enhances patient comfort.

Best of all, since the braces and wires are truly invisible, you will feel confident smiling even throughout your orthodontic treatment.  This revolutionary treatment option that has been made popular in Hollywood and New York is now available here locally, thanks to the expertise of Dr. Zimmerman.
