The profession of orthodontics means everything to me and I am extremely passionate about its practice. Being an orthodontist means achieving a beautiful smile and a healthy result. It also means being a leader and guide in the community through building relationships and helping each of my patients become the hero in their own story and realize their full potential.

Having the opportunity to work with so many different people every day was one of the many motivators for becoming an orthodontist. I firmly believe there is something to learn from everyone, so having the privilege of working with so many unique people is rewarding. Furthermore, no two patients are the same, which makes my days stimulating.

The best part of being an orthodontist is the impact I have on the lives of my patients. Some seek treatment because of a debilitating bite; being able to correct that for them is a privilege. When those patients come back and tell me of all the foods they are now able to enjoy, it makes me so happy! Others want treatment because they have aesthetic concerns which affect their self-image. When those patients get their braces off, and they and their loved ones see their new smile for the first time, it is an emotional moment: I can immediately see their self-esteem soar!

I truly love the practice of orthodontics and feel fortunate to help people every day.

~ Dr. Jason Zimmerman

Education and Experience

Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Dr. Jason Zimmerman is honored to serve a community he loves. His initial inspiration to join the oral healthcare field came from his father, a general dentist. When he was young, Dr. Zimmerman would visit his father at his office as often as possible and could see, firsthand, the positive impact he had on his patients.

Then, as a teenager, Dr. Zimmerman went through orthodontic treatment. As a child, he had very crowded teeth and, once his braces were removed, he felt that he could accomplish anything. That orthodontic experience gave him confidence in unexpected ways and he knew, then, that he wanted to one day help people in a similar fashion.

Dr. Zimmerman received his Bachelors of Science with Honors at Western University, followed by his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the same university. His Master of Science in Craniofacial Sciences and Diploma in Orthodontics were next obtained at the University of British Columbia.

A perfectionist at heart, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys the detailed-oriented nature of his profession. He is passionate about providing each patient with the smile of their dreams while also ensuring a healthy and stable result.

With each patient, Dr. Zimmerman strives to achieve a smile that lights up the room, so they can tackle the world through all of life’s milestones. He believes every patient is a hero in their unfolding story and loves to help guide each individual to seeing their potential. Orthodontic treatment changed his life in adolescence and Dr. Zimmerman feels fortunate to do the same for others in his community.
